Hi everyone and welcome to this tenth Hanker newsletter! Once again, we have a lot of information and news for you about the Quebec City heavy metal band.
Change of management:
Hanker have terminated their relation with their management. Thank you for everything, and best of luck in your new role as a father. The band has now taken its future back into its own hands with new projects and a new management team that will be announced soon.
Hanker vinyls now available:
In Our World and Snakes And Ladders are now available in vinyl format in about twenty countries in Europe and Asia through Greek label Cult Metal Classics. Both albums are released as a deluxe vinyl limited edition including lyrics and photos of the band. Note that the In Our World LP contains 2 bonus songs, just like In Our World Revisited. Check the Order section or the Cult Metal Classics Web site for more information and how to buy these masterpieces. The LPs are available only as European imports for now. We will inform you of future developments.
New studio album in progress:
Hanker are currently working on the band's fourth album. Several songs are in construction and two are finalised so far, including one that fans had the chance to enjoy at their February 2002 gig at the Kashmir. This tune is called EMPOWER and talks about how the world has changed since the September 11, 2001 events. Empower is a power metal style fast tune with many great melodic guitars harmonies and lead breaks and lasts more than five minutes. The vocals are superb in this new composition! The fans seemed to dig the song a lot at the gig and cheered loudly at the end! It's a great tune and a very good appetizer of their next CD. For now, no official release date is available but we can expect it sometime this Fall or in early 2003.
Interview with Pascal Cliche:
In the last edition of the excellent Snakepit magazine (no. 10, March 2002) now available, you can read an interesting interview with Hanker lead singer and guitarist, Pascal Cliche.
Hanker in Europe this summer?
Many rumours run that Hanker would finally play in Europe. The band strongly wishes to play for the first time in front of their European fans as early as this summer! Several discussions are in progress and we will inform you of futures developments on the Hanker Web site.
Main additions to the site:
Here are the main additions to the Hanker Web site since the last newsletter: added six excellent reviews of Snakes And Ladders under CD Reviews. The album now has 28 reviews and none of them are negative! Added a gig review with pictures and set list of the Hanker show at the Kashmir under Gig Reviews, an article published in the Voir newspaper, many updates on how to order Hanker merchandise under Order and once again, many improvements on the Web site. Several improvements will see the light of day in the next few weeks.
That's all for this newsletter. As you can see, 2002 will be a very important year for Hanker. Thanks a lot to everyone who support Hanker.
