| 2003-10-29 | Hanker featured on a Washington City Paper contest! Hanker were featured on «Spot the Drummer», a funny
weekly contest on the Washington City Paper Web site last week. The goal of the game is to find the drummer on a band's picture and... have a good laugh about skinsmen! You can also try to find out the name of the band, which band member will quit the band, and why and which band member will be fired, and why! Nothing serious -even the answer is wrong!- it's just for fun! Check this out and enjoy; there are some classics drummers jokes out there! |

| 2003-10-07 | Hanker will play at the Headbangers Open Air 2004 in Germany! The doors have finally begun to open for Hanker! After getting an opening slot for the Helloween gig in Montreal on October 11, 2003 and signed with Skyscraper Music for their upcoming album, our Quebec metallers will finally play in Europe next year for the first time!  Furthermore, they will be one of the headliners at the cult Headbangers Open Air Festival which will take place on July 9-10, 2004! Bands confirmed for this two days festival are: Intruder (USA), Brocas Helm, Elixir (UK), Desaster (Germany), Vortex, Nightmare, Fist (UK), Tyr (Denmark), Overdrive (Sweden), Hirax, Highway Chile, Rosae Crucis and more! Tickets are limited to 1,000 and only cost 20 Euro (tax free). They are currently available on the Hellion Records Web site. | 2003-10-01 | Hanker sign with Skyscraper Music!! Skyscraper Music is proud to welcome two of Canada's most legendary Metal bands - none other than NECRONOMICON and HANKER!!  Following the successful Snakes And Ladders (released in 2000 by Metal Disk), Hanker will make its debut recording on Skyscraper in spring 2004. The 18-year old Power/Thrash quartet has nothing to envy younger talent, the band is here to stay and work their way through today's international Metal scene. | 2003-09-25 |  The Dead Ringer released in vinyl format!Good news: Hellion Records has just released in Europe the second Hanker album, The Dead Ringer, in vinyl format! The release is limited to 500 copies with a bonus track (250 copies in red and 250 copies in yellow 180 g. vinyl). All three Hanker albums are therefore available in vinyl format (Cult Metal Classics released the other two last year). |
| 2003-06-22 | New album update! Hanker played three new songs from the upcoming album in concert last Friday before more than 300 fans. One of the songs had just been completed! The titles are Stigmata, Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea and Do Or Die, the latter being a real straight heavy metal pounding song about fascism. These songs are pure Hanker, heavy and melodic with great guitars and vocal harmonies. You won't be disappointed! The two other songs that we already know are Empower and Under Cover Of Darkness. They also recorded the gig for possible future use. Guitarist Patrick Gravel informs me that the writing process is almost completed! There will be 10 or 11 tracks on the album. The band aim for a Fall release for the new CD. More details and especially some good news will come soon! |
